New Year’s Eve in Buenos Aires (3 ways to spend it with many options of celebration)

1. Keepin´ it classy

If you are one to put on a nice dress or tie and pop a bottle of champagne with a couple of loved ones, there are plenty of restaurants in Buenos Aires that have a New Year’s Eve night to celebrate. You can head to Puerto Madero, which is known to be a little bit more up-scale, to ring in the new year. Here you can find restaurants like Osaka (sushi) and Puerto Cristal (seafood) that have special menu’s and events to celebrate and have a nice view of the fireworks that are set off over the bay.

2. Party Hardy

If you have ever been to Buenos Aires you know that there is no lack of opportunity to party, so I am sure you can imagine on New Year’s Eve what these crazy Argentines have planned. If you are looking to pop some bottles and get your dancing shoes on, there are plenty clubs or ‘boliches’ that foster such an attitude. One popular club to go on New Year’s Eve is called Niceto and it is located in Palermo. They have special events for this night so buy your tickets now! If you are too late on the tickets, not to worry! You still have many options such as Crobar, Kika, Jet and many more!

Remember, night life in Buenos Aires stars very late so you probably will want to make some ‘pregame’ plans to toast to the new year before you hit the clubs! (keep reading for those ideas)

3. Not too much of one, not too much of the other

If you are the type of person that likes to go out and celebrate,  but maybe prefers not to dress in coat and tie or return home very intoxicated and at 7am in the morning, there are also options for you! Like I said in the first option, In Puerto Madero there are fireworks on New Years so rooftop bars tend to be full and fun to grab a drink and ring in the new year. Here are some options to do so: Alvear Palace Rooftop Bar, Sky Bar, Alaire Terrace Bar, El Club

Also just because you’re in Buenos Aires does not mean that enjoying a bottle of Malbec from the comfort of your own couch is not a valid and reasonable option.
