5 Not So Obvious, Free (or almost free) Places to See in Buenos Aires

1. El Ateneo Gran Splendid

    

If you like theater, and you like to read, this is the perfect place for you! This is an old theater that was transformed into a bookstore! It is one of my favorite places of the city because I love bookstores in general but it makes it even better that it is in a beautiful old theater!

2. Usina del Arte

This huge building is home to many free shows such as contemporary dance, musical concerts, an

d theater productions…all for free! It has many different floors with different events going on and there is a nice outdoor area to hang out before the show! Check out their upcoming s

3. La Bomba de tiempo 

   

Every Monday there is a live percussion show held in Ciudad Cultural Konex. It costs about 300 pesos and it is held in an outdoor venue where you can buy drinks and food to enjoy during the show. It is about a two hour show of a beautiful exchange of music between musicians!

4. La viruta

La Viruta is a tango-dancing hub that holds classes throughout the week for all levels of tango-ers. AND if yo

ur more of an observer than a dancer yourself, I still recommend because they also hold ´milongas´ which is a designated free dance time where more experienced dancers can have fun and play around on the dance floor. You pay one price for the whole night so you can stay until the wee hours of the morning learning and watching TANGO.

5. Centro cultural de recoleta

This space is dedicated to cultural interaction and free creativity. There are various rooms of artistic presentations, workshops, concerts and much more of this type. Entran

ce is free so go and let your creative energies flow in this shared space!
