Argentina vs New Zealand Rugby Excursion

Last weekend Elebaires decided to take a group to the Argentina / New Zealand rugby match in La Plata (just outside of Buenos Aires). Elebaires booked all of the transport and ensured that we all had rugby tickets as well. We arrived in good time before the match and everyone bought some tasty hamburgers in the stadium.

The actual rugby was phenomenal, two of the worlds most aggressive and passionate teams coming face to face. Witnessing the Haka and being in a stadium crammed noisy Argentines was fantastic and it is great news that Argentina has been added to what was formerly known as the Tri-Nations.

The thing that really stood out for the whole match was the atmosphere. Before the match there were continuous Mexican waves and a series of passionate and quick chants to get everyone in the mood. These chants were followed by clapping and whistling throughout the match. Id never experienced such a lively atmosphere, it was not dangerous or aggressive, but it was an incredible experience to be witnessing, truly unique to the South American culture.

After the game we made our way back into town on the private transport that Elebaires had booked and we went for a fantastic supper at a Mexican restaurant. All in all it was an amazing experience and one that none of us shall forget soon.
