Buena Onda- Beach Party!

Mar del Plata, situated only about 6 hours north of Buenos Aires, its not a bad place to vacate to for one of the feriados during summer.  The buses are frequent, comfy and wont break the bank if you manage to book in advance.

January, the Argentine summer is the perfect time to visit the sea side resort.  Going with a group of friends is always a good idea, but with its party reputation and  I am sure being a solo traveller there would not be difficult at all.

Beaches are the main attraction, the south generally being much nicer.  In the summer all the beaches are packed and huge music festivals take place.  If you’re in search of a party, you will certainly find one here with live music, DJs and bands playing.  There are always people dancing and plenty of good food and drink on offer.

There are plenty of hostels, I would recommend opting for one closer into the centre as we opted for one slightly further out which meant fairly long taxi journeys to and from the beaches and clubs.

Make sure you get down to a beach party, there is nothing better then dancing in the sand with some friends and Fernet!  So if you are in Buenos Aires in the summer time, take a weekend trip to the beach and dance in the sand!
