Feliz Día del Idioma Español!

Today, 23rd April, is the internationally celebrated Día Mundial del Idioma Español!

It was first created back in 1946 to honour one of the greatest writers of Spanish literature – Miguel de Cervantes.

Although the records are a bit muddled, the majority of them state that Cervantes actually died on 23rd April back in 1616. The exact same date as the English writer William Shakespeare!

Cervantes’ most famous novel is Don Quijote de la Mancha, a novel that is said to be one of the world’s greatest literary masterpieces.
