My Experience in Buenos Aires – Megan

I´m not going to lie, I was extremely apprehensive about my decision to travel to Buenos Aires to live for an extended period of time. I had never been to Argentina before and really had no idea what to expect, from the city itself to what the TEFL program I had signed up for would be like. Buenos Aires and Elebaires exceeded any expectations that I had, and the time I spent here I will treasure for a lifetime.

The city itself is both beautiful and lively, and has a slower pace of living that is refreshing and different. The people are friendly, the public transportation is quick and efficient, and living in the heart of the city, anything and everything you would need to see or experience is just a quick bus or subway ride away. Taking my TEFL class at Elebaires was the best thing that could have happened to me. I was greeted with the customary kiss on the cheek and with the warmth and interest from my instructor was quickly made to feel comfortable and at home.

The course provided me with the tools, resources, and most importantly the experience I needed to feel confident in my teaching abilities. Not only did I learn how to teach English, but I was also given insight into the culture and heart of Argentina itself through the people I met there. I successfully completed the course, and with the confidence and knowledge I had gained through Elebaires was able to secure a job with a company immediately afterwards. I am so happy I made the decision to come to this amazing country, Argentina now has a place in my heart and I will be forever grateful for the experience.
