Spanish has been named the second native language most used with over 500 speakers and the 3rd most studied language behind English and French!
In this day and age, it’s not difficult to travel around the world and find Spanish speakers in every corner of the world. In the sea of Spanish speakers across the world, Spain only accounts for 10%. Right now, Mexico is home to the largest population of Spanish speakers but it is estimated that within two or three decades, the U.S. will surpass Mexico in that ranking.
With recent data from Instituto Cervantes, Spanish is already spoken by roughly 577 million people and more than 20 million students across the world choose Spanish as a second language to learn. This increase in can be noted largely to the changing demographic of the American continent, which is where many of Spanish native speakers are located. In the United States alone, research shows that around 70% of K-12 students and roughly 50% of college students study Spanish as their second language!
Join the movement! Choose to study Spanish and become one of the 100s of million Spanish speakers in the world!
