Taking a walk in BA – by Mick

One of my favorite places to take a walk in Buenos Aires is the Zona Reserva in Puerto Madero.  This nature reserve has almost 12 kilometers of walking path.  If you were to take a stroll around the outside of the park it is almost 8 km.

The nature reserve is nestled in between the river and the ocean.  It is a lush landscape that is sanctuary to many species of birds.  Along the riverside you can see many ducks and parrots as well.  The rocky coast line literally stretches for miles.  There is also a great picnic area along the ocean shore as well as many rest stops and photo opportunities.

If you don’t feel like carrying your lunch, try oneof the “parillas” on the other side of the reserve.  There is usually a market outside of the reserve as well.  Sometimes I justlike to get away from the buildings and automotive exhaust that make every big city.  I found my oasis in the Zona Reserva.  Try it out sometime.
