Eye of the Tigre Delta!

Tigre, Buenos Aires’s neighbour.  This city however couldn’t be much more different.  The sky scrapers, the SUBTE and the sheer volume have all been switched for a more tranquil holiday vibe on the water front.

Tigre has lots to offer whether in terms of a day trip to explore the markets and nice restaurants on the water front, or whether you book one of the many amazing properties on the delta which gives a feeling of complete wilderness.  During the Argentine summer or even on a hot weekend Porteños flee from the city to take a welcomed break in Tigre.

A popular attraction in Tigre is the leisure boat rides which allow you to wind in and out of the Delta viewing the beautiful houses and restaurants that exist beyond the mainland.  There is also a water park with multiple slides and flumes if your looking for a splash around and a bit of a thrill.  For those even more daring there is a theme park with some rollercoasters and plenty of rides to entertain everyone.

In my opinion the best way to enjoy the treasures of Tigre is to take a few days and rent a house in the delta.  It is peaceful, beautiful and some of the properties are amazing.  Tennis courts, croquet lawns and piers to jump off.  The delta may look a little brown in color but the water is totally harmless.

The only draw back of renting a house on the water is that you have to take everything with you.  Breakfast, lunch, dinner, all must be carried on to your own little island as the only way back to the mainland shops is via boat.

I really would recommend Tigre as the perfect city escape, so get a group of friends together, search for a house on Air B and B and enjoy the magic that it has to offer!
