You know you are in Buenos Aires when…

You walk down the street and someone who has just bumped into you yells: CHE BOLUDOOO?!! Yes, then you know: you. are. in. Buenos. Aires.

You know you have to look down to the pavement all the time; because you never know what you are gonna step into this time. Is it gonna be a big hole that makes you break your leg? Or is it gonna be a pile of dog poo that is gonna ruin your day? Always, always be careful people.

You are not surprised when you see girls walking on platforms as big as the titanic. What are they all thinking? This is NOT a trend sweet girls, stop wearing them. We will be very thankfull to you all!

You take a bite of a delicious looking cake and you heavenly enjoy it until… something liquid, sweet tasting drips into your mouth. You look at your gorgeous cake and see the liquid is brown and you realize it is dulce de leche. Litteraly, all sweets in Buenos Aires seem to be filled with dulce de leche. Honestly we like it, but enough is enough.

You see more taxis than people. Black and yellow everywhere; they color the street image of Buenos Aires. But of course, when you finally need a taxi, not a single one stops for you because they are all occupied. Oh happy life.

You are waiting to be pushed into the metro. Monday morning; time to go to work, or Monday morning; time to be pushed into the metro seems more like it. As much as we like the porteños, when we are in the metro we have a love-hate relationship with them.

You suddenly find yourself in the middle of a protest. Because, you know, the porteños always find something to protest for.

You are walking around the city and you wonder whether you just stepped into a movie scene of Rome, or wait is it Barcelona or… when I think about it, actually it looks a lot like Paris. Yes, Buenos Aires has a European touch and it looks very much like these cities.
